Steve Goeser, president and CEO of Methodist Health System, has announced that Bill Vobejda has been chosen as Methodist Fremont Health's president and CEO. The Methodist Fremont Health board of directors selected Vobejda, and the Methodist Health System board of directors ratified the decision.
Vobejda will assume the leadership role on Sept. 2.
Vobejda has held the position of vice president of Integrated Service for Methodist Health System since March 2020. Prior to that appointment, he was vice president of operations at Methodist Fremont Health for eight years.
“I’m pleased by the selection of Bill for this role in Fremont,” Goeser said. “With his prior experience on the leadership team, he’s already very familiar with the operations and the people at Methodist Fremont Health, which is very important. In his most recent role, he’s shown his high-level leadership skills and guided us through multiple facility projects as well as expansion of our health system’s sustainability efforts. I’m confident Bill will continue to build upon Methodist Fremont Health’s strong foundation of caring for the many communities it serves.”
Prior to joining Methodist, Vobejda was regional publisher of the Fremont Tribune and Columbus Telegram. He also was marketing director at the Lincoln Journal Star. He has taught at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Midland University.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to return to Methodist Fremont Health and continue to build on the solid foundation already in place,” Vobejda said. “I look forward to partnering with the amazing team of providers and staff to deliver on our commitment to provide outstanding care to the community.”
Vobejda earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His past leadership positions include serving as board president for the Greater Fremont Development Council, the Fremont Opera House and Archbishop Bergan Catholic School.
