Perno has extensive strategic and operational experience in various healthcare roles including hospital, medical group, ambulatory services, and managed care. He brings more than 20 years of experience in health care executive leadership to his new role, which made the Ohio Valley Board of Directors selection clear.

“For the board, it was paramount that we find a leader who is committed to Ohio Valley’s legacy of patient-focused, physician-driven health care," said Rob Cercek, chairman of the board. "In Bill we see an engaging and compassionate leader who will serve the local community and our Ohio Valley physicians and team members well."

Most recently, Perno served as Market Vice President for the State of Ohio with Cityblock Health. During that time, he oversaw strategic and operational development, growth initiatives and patient care for underserved populations. His past leadership roles including serving as Chief Development Officer for Value-based Care with Revere Health in Provo, Utah, Vice President / COO of Mount Carmel Health Partners in Columbus, OH, and President/CEO of West Florida Health in Tampa, Florida. With a background in value-based care, growth and a passion for leadership, he brings considerable expertise to his new role at Ohio Valley. He believes the best way he can help patients feel cared for is by being a leader that models and supports strategies to expand access to high quality care and improve the health of the community.

“The Care You Can Trust reputation that Ohio Valley continues to both aspire and live by is what made me say ‘yes’ to Ohio Valley,” Perno shares. “The opportunity to be part of a physician-led healthcare organization that is intentionally looking at ways to grow and support community needs in Clark County and the surrounding area sparked my interest.”

As a leader, Perno ensures understanding through listening and observing. He is committed to helping team members feel respected and valued for their opinions and hard work and strives for collaboration and clear communication. "As a well-known and respected hospital in the region for its quality of care, I look forward to joining the Ohio Valley team in their commitment to clinical excellence and providing outstanding patient experiences,” said Perno. “We will continue to innovate in an ever-changing health care landscape while building on the success of Ohio Valley and supporting their mission of “Elevating the Standard of Healthcare in our Community”.
