Apprio has teamed up with Intellect
Solutions to oversee the transition of
the management of MHS EHR to a
new office
Apprio, a provider of specialized technology solutions for health, defense and homeland security markets, has teamed up with Intellect Solutions to oversee the transition in management of the Military Health System (MHS) electronic health record (EHR) to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Health Information Technology Directorate.
Apprio will develop a strategy for initiating a smooth trade-off of the EHR, known as MHS GENESIS, which is currently managed by the Department of Defense Healthcare Management System Modernization Program Management Office, under the Program Executive Office, Defense Healthcare Management Systems.
"For nearly two decades, Apprio has worked with federal agencies to transform health IT and implement EHRs and other health program solutions to benefit patients across the continuum of care," Darryl Britt, president of Apprio, said in a statement. "Our work to transition the MHS EHR builds on our federal health IT portfolio of solutions and will enable the military to integrate workflows and standardized EHR exchange to advance military health and health care reform."

Apprio also will support the creation of a Medical Device Management Plan that will allow the MHS access to MHS GENESIS’ capability for ensuring efficient integration with medical devices.
