Israeli firm Medic Vision Imaging Solutions Ltd. said Monday it inked a deal with Atlantis Worldwide LLC, making the used medical imaging equipment dealer its exclusive partner to distribute its dose-lowering CT scanner technology to U.S. hospitals and imaging centers.

Tirat Carmel-based Medic Vision makes SafeCT, a third-party iterative reconstruction technology that lets radiologists take CT scans at lower doses with less noise. The add-on device received Food and Drug Administration clearance in January 2011.

IR technology is usually sold with high-end new CT scanners or is available from manufacturers as an upgrade for certain older units.

Medic Vision said SafeCT is compatible with scanners made by GE, Philips, Siemens and Toshiba. Multiple systems can be attached to one SafeCT server, the company said in its news release.

Atlantis Worldwide is based in Yonkers, N.Y.
