Annika Andrews will take the helm of Seattle's in-development proton therapy center.
Andrews, formerly the chief operating officer of the Emerald City's Northwest Hospital, will serve as CEO and president of a four-room proton therapy center opening on that hospital's grounds in 2013.
The SCCA Proton Therapy, A ProCure Center, is being developed by New York private proton therapy center group ProCure and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, and is believed to cost around $160 million. When it opens next year on the Northwest Hospital's campus, it will be the fourth ProCure center. The first opened in Oklahoma in 2009.

In a release, ProCure said Andrews has 17 years of health care experience. Most recently, she has served as Northwest Hospital and Medical Center's senior vice president and COO.
According to an Information Technology Leaders report, Andrews originally joined Northwest Hospital in the 1990s, where as a young chief information officer she helped overhaul the facility's IT infrastructure.
