Akumin, a provider of radiology and oncology services, will unveil its Akumin AXIS Expandable Patient Solutions at RSNA, a relocatable, modular imaging and radiation therapy center designed to address the growing demand for outpatient radiology and oncology services.

With 9-foot ceilings, a flexible layout, and the ability to support advanced imaging modalities like PET/CT and linear accelerators for radiation therapy, (MR compatibility is expected next year) the units offer facilities a versatile solution for service expansion.

AXIS set ups address challenges like high capital costs, construction delays, and staffing shortages that often hinder hospitals and physician groups looking to expand. The unit includes advanced features such as three uptake rooms for PET/CT procedures, and supports theranostic infusions, enabling high-volume and advanced care delivery.

Akumin AXIS is fully relocatable, allowing facilities to adjust services as patient needs evolve.

Based in the U.S., Akumin operates one of the largest networks of fixed and mobile imaging centers in the country. The company collaborates with over 1,000 healthcare providers to expand patient access to radiology and oncology services.

"We are proud to be innovating to expand possibilities and advance care for hospitals and groups around the country by launching Akumin AXIS," said Krishna Kumar, CEO of Akumin. "Our commitment to enable care providers to improve healthcare delivery drives us to develop tailored solutions like these that enhance access to imaging and oncology services."

The unit will be on display at RSNA 2024.
