Los Angeles private equity firm Platinum Equity announced last week it wrapped up its purchase of medical imaging equipment sales and service company DMS Health Technologies from its owner, Otter Tail Corp. Terms of the agreement,
revealed in February, were not disclosed.
Brian Wall, the Platinum partner whose group led the acquisition, said a Platinum operations team is already on site working with DMS management.
"Platinum has been successfully managing corporate divestitures for more than 15 years," he said in a statement. "We have the experience and resources necessary to ensure a seamless transition."
Since its founding in 1995, Platinum said it has bought over 130 companies.
DMS Health Technologies is a distributor and servicer of Philips imaging and patient monitoring equipment in the upper Midwest. It also sells parts and used ultrasound systems. Its service offerings include mobile imaging rentals and asset management.
DMS, headquartered in Fargo, N.D., dates back to the early 1970s, and has been owned by Otter Tail, which also has an office in Fargo, since 1993.
