Infusion pump seller InfuSystem Holdings Inc. said Wednesday it named Smiths Medical ex-manager John Haggerty as vice president of biomedical services.

In the newly minted position, Haggerty will oversee biomedical repair, recertification and maintenance services for the company's biomed centers in Michigan, Kansas, California and Canada, the company said.

Prior to joining Madison Heights, Mich.-based InfuSystem, Haggerty ran biomed technical technical centers for Smiths Medical in the U.S., Europe, Australia and Japan. He also worked for Smiths subsidiary Deltec Inc. and the biomed group of 3M, before it was bought by Smiths in 1997, the company said.

In June, InfuSystem expanded into the biomed space after acquiring service and sales company First Biomedical Inc. for around $17.2 million.

The company also announced last week it completed the public offering of 2.8 million shares held by a Kimberly-Clark Corp. subsidiary. InfuSystem did not issue any new shares or receive proceeds from the offering, the company said.
