DOTmed.com is an expansive marketplace for medical equipment parts and services - we currently feature close to 195,000 listings, with parts representing a vast majority of them -- in fact, nearly 75%. In addition, almost 1900 parts suppliers are currently using DOTmed's services. While happy with our site and overall service, several of our users recently approached us in the hopes of finding a way to make it easier for hospitals and biomedical engineers to purchase the parts they need, when they need them, from the most committed parts vendors.

In response, DOTmed launched the Certified Parts Vendor (CPV) Program on October 1st. The program enables top-tier stocking vendors to do business directly with DOTmed parts buyers in a way that allows them to stand out from their competitors.

DOTmed Certified Parts Vendors

There are requirements for suppliers wishing to become a CPV. They must have a physical warehouse, that derive a significant percentage of their income from parts sales and that they agree to DOTmed's Code of Ethics.

CPVs all have a profile on DOTmed furnishing their warranty, return policy, acceptance policy and their history, as well as their DOTmed rating.

Requesting parts is easy - online or by phone.

At DOTmed, we are offering a toll-free customer service line to help Parts Buyers navigate our system and submit requests to our CVPs quickly and easily. One call or email to DOTmed and we will rapidly disseminate your request - via email, text, SMS or IM - to all of our Certified Parts Vendors who specialize in that product.

To call in a request simply dial
1-866-999-DOTmed (3836), ext 253. Hours are from 9 am - 6 pm ET. Buyers can also request parts online by clicking My DOTmed and My Parts Hunter.

Buyers can be anonymous

Busy biomedical engineers may prefer to keep a low profile when buying parts in order to prevent a stream of sales calls. The CPV Program lets the buyer get the word out by making requests anonymously. They can identify themselves to the vendor with whom they want to do business and make a deal at any time. Buyers also control how they receive offers from sellers. The default method is the Parts Hunter offer page created when a buyer makes a request. They can also opt to be contacted by phone and/or email.

The DOTmed 5-Star Rating System

We believe it is important to reward superior parts vendors. It is easy to dole out criticism, but DOTmed wanted to provide a forum that makes it easy for buyers to rate the sellers with whom they've had the most favorable experience. DOTmed's 5-Star Rating System encourages transparency, and by rating quality CVPs you guarantee that your peers benefit from your experience while helping those companies remain in business.

Buyers get Rewards-For-Ratings

Time is money, so each time a seller gets rated by a hospital biomedical engineer, that engineer accrues points for their hospital. Points are redeemable for paid training, departmental lunches and discounts on future DOTmed purchases.

DOTmed's Rewards-For-Ratings program provides 500 points for every parts request and additional points when sellers are rated after purchase. CPVs are charged a 3% commission fee, which funds DOTmed's rewards program.

Certified Parts Vendors get priority

DOTmed receives more than 57,300 parts requests each year. Once a parts request comes in, DOTmed's Certified Parts Vendor Program automatically notifies CPVs who stock that part. CPVs are given priority for the first 48 hours of bidding. If the request is left unanswered it is released to the general supplier population.

Certified Parts Vendor Profiles

CPV profiles are personalized and informative, providing all the necessary background and company information that buyers need to make educated decisions.

In addition to showing a company's warranty, return policy, and acceptance policy, a Vendor Profile has room for testimonials and a video clip - which can include anything the CPV wants to show. The vendor's DOTmed rating is also highlighted on their profile. Buyers not only have the right, but are given incentive to rate CPVs in order to earn points in DOTmed's Rewards-For-Ratings program.

DOTmed's CPV Program benefits everyone

If you are buying through DOTmed's Certified Parts Vendor Program, rest assured that you are purchasing from honest vendors offering the best parts and service. We ask that you take the time to rate your sellers - and gain rewards points for your efforts. For sellers, becoming a Certified Parts Vendor means you receive priority and are rated for your excellence on our site, which means you get more business.
