SACRAMENTO, Calif.,— Tracy Roman is the new CEO for Sutter Memorial Medical Center.

Roman most recently served as the chief financial officer for Sutter Memorial Medical Center, Sutter Memorial Hospital Los Banos and Sutter Tracy Community Hospital in the Central Valley. Known for excelling in both financial and operational leadership, her contributions toward expanding patient access have been substantial. She has been a major driver of service line development and expansion, including those supporting women’s and children’s health, as well as cancer care. She also has been a major champion of quality and safety improvements, and securing capital investments for infrastructure and strategic growth designed to help care for more people in Modesto and those from surrounding areas. Prior to joining Sutter Health in 2019, Roman served in leadership positions at several area hospitals in the market for 18 years including the chief operating officer role at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.

Roman holds a master’s degree from the University of Southern California in healthcare administration and a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Stanislaus in accounting.
