KA Imaging and UMG/Del Medical introduced the Reveal Mobi Pro dual-energy mobile X-ray system at this year’s AHRA meeting in Indiana.

The solution consists of KA Imaging’s Reveal 35C detector, a portable solution that utilizes spectral dual-energy technology to create three images in a single exposure, in a complete mobile X-ray system that will extend the Reveal 35C detector's capabilities to the bedside to improve patient outcomes and accelerate patient scanning throughput. It also has a high-frequency 40KW generator, integrated DR Workstation, 8-hour battery life, and motor-assisted movement.

The Reveal 35C detector is modeled after state-of-the-art mobile DR X-ray technology in workflow, dose, and techniques. The SpectralDR technology enables bone and tissue differentiation in a single exposure, creating a standard chest X-ray, a soft tissue image without bone, and a bone image without soft tissue.

This eliminates motion artifacts and captures images in which the bone and soft tissue do not overlap at the same dose as a standard chest X-ray, allowing radiologists to assess the lungs and soft tissue without bones obstructing their view and vice versa. It also makes it easier to determine the location of lesions or signs of a disease.

“After the pandemic, mobile imaging has become more prominent in many healthcare facilities, so offering a solution to improve the visualization of bones and tissues at the bedside is essential,” said Amol Karnick, president and CEO of KA Imaging.

In a recent study, the solution’s spectral radiographic images increased interpretation confidence by 57% in ICU cases without increasing reading time.

In November, at the Radiological Society of North America Annual Meeting, KA Imaging released its first integrated mobile dual-energy X-ray system, Reveal Mobi Lite, which is similar to the Pro version but lacks certain advanced features, including its telescopic arm.

The Reveal 35C detector is 510(k)-cleared. The Reveal Mobi Pro is not yet available for sale.
