Cooper University Health Care, in New Jersey, is the first U.S. hospital to use Viz Aortic, an AI-software application made by Viz.ai that can identify undiagnosed abdominal aortic aneurysms from CT scans.

The solution can facilitate better surveillance, interventional planning, and lifesaving care by reducing unnecessary transfers and premature discharges, ensuring patients are seen by the correct physicians, and that providers can keep tabs on them as they undergo follow-up imaging.

The solution measures subtle changes in the aorta's size and shape, and can be used with any CT scanner in the hospital network, according to The Trentonian. It will be part of the Viz AORTIC Module, an AI solution for speeding up treatment decisions for all aortic-related conditions. Staff members can also speak with one another in real time through a HIPAA-compliant mobile interface.
