TULSA, OK, April 16, 2021 — The Saint Francis Health System Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Cliff Robertson, M.D., M.B.A., as Saint Francis’ new president and chief executive officer effective July 1, 2021.

“After a local and national search and consideration of several excellent candidates, I am excited to welcome Cliff to the Saint Francis Health System family. He will be joining a team of accomplished, successful and mission-driven leaders who have, and will continue to, set the bar for healthcare excellence in Oklahoma,” said John-Kelly Warren, trustee and chair of the board of directors of Saint Francis Health System.

Dr. Robertson comes to Saint Francis from CommonSpirit Health — the nation’s largest nonprofit, Catholic health system. He began his career as a family medicine physician at Fort Sill in Oklahoma after completing medical school at Ohio State College of Medicine and residency in Family Medicine at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington.

I look forward to listening and learning from the women and men who have shepherded this organization into what has been called the ‘golden era’ of Saint Francis,” said Robertson. “The pace of innovation in this industry is remarkable. Saint Francis is better positioned than most to adapt to the constantly changing healthcare landscape because of its local leadership and governance.”

Saint Francis is the region’s only locally headquartered health system. The organization has more than 10,500 employees, making it the largest private employer in eastern Oklahoma. Robertson will succeed Jake Henry Jr., who is retiring on June 30, 2021, as the next chief executive officer of the Saint Francis Health System.
