MALVERN, UNITED KINGDOM (PRWEB) JUNE 05, 2019 -- Metrasens, a global leader of MRI Safety solutions for healthcare facilities announces today that it has commenced a new and extended patent infringement action in the Chinese courts against Nanjing Cloud Magnet Electronic Technology Limited.

Metrasens is a provider of advanced magnetic detection technological solutions. Founded in the UK, Metrasens has become a global industry leader in the provision of patient safety solutions to MRI facilities. Its Ferroguard® products have built a reputation as trustworthy ferromagnetic detection systems (FMDS) and are in use in 36 countries.

Metrasens has previously commenced action in the Chinese courts against Nanjing Cloud Magnet Electronic Technology Limited (“Cloud Magnet”) and its affiliate Nanjing Haole Technology Co., Ltd (“NH”) for infringements of Metrasens’ granted patents, and copyright materials.

Over recent months it has become apparent to Metrasens that Cloud Magnet has continued and extended its infringement of Metrasens’ patents granted in China, including the installation of ferromagnetic detection products at additional MRI facilities, and the installation of the new “Scanner Plus” FMDS system which, in Metrasens’ view, also falls within the scope of its patent protection. Consequently, Metrasens announces that it has commenced a new and extended patent infringement action on May 28th 2019 against NH and Cloud Magnet in the IP Division of Nanjing Intermediate People’s Court, in respect of NH and Cloud Magnet’s ferromagnetic detection products: Cloud Magnet Scanner II, Cloud Magnet Scanner II Plus, and Cloud Magnet Scanner Plus (Case Re: (2019) Su 01 Min Chu No. 1534). This extended court action replaces the case commenced by Metrasens in December 2018.

Metrasens greatly values the relationships that it has developed with the Chinese radiology community through its adoption of Ferroguard MRI safety systems over the past six years. Similarly, it greatly respects the development within China of new technologies to advance the goal of making MRI facilities as safe as possible for all patients and staff. However, Metrasens values its intellectual property rights and will continue to take all necessary legal and commercial steps against Cloud Magnet and NH in China and elsewhere to prevent the manufacture and sale of products that are based on its proprietary technology and/or infringe its patents.
