Mundelein, Ill., March 23, 2016 – According to the CDC, nearly 52 million inpatient surgeries are performed in the U.S. each year. To ensure instruments are properly protected from contamination, surgeons must be equipped with high quality sterilization wraps. Medline today announced a new agreement for its sterilization wraps with MedAssets’ Spend and Clinical Resource Management (SCM) business.

The three-year agreement offers negotiated pricing on the global medical supplier’s portfolio of sterilization wraps to all members and customers currently served by MedAssets’ SCM business which was acquired by Vizient, Inc. on February 12, 2016.

“Through this deal, we are looking forward to providing high quality supplies to members served by MedAssets’ SCM business to help lower their supply chain costs and enhance patient outcomes,” said David Hatch, senior director of national accounts, Medline.

Healthcare organizations must receive products in a timely manner – it’s critical to patients and staff. With more than 40 distribution centers across the country, Medline is able to deliver products when and where providers need them.

The contract is effective through April 30, 2019.
