BC Technical announced on Wednesday that it acquired Virtual Medical Sales, a medical imaging product, accessory and service company based in New York. BC Technical believes that this will help strengthen their MR and CT capabilities.

"Virtual Medical Sales compliments BC Technical's current products and services," Kenneth Smith, executive vice president of BC Technical, wrote to DOTmed News in an email. "They strengthened our East Coast coverage and their company culture was a natural fit for BC Technical."

Virtual Medical Sales provides full service and magnet maintenance for fixed and mobile GE Healthcare and Siemens Healthcare MRs as well as GE and Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation CTs. The service team is OEM trained and has about 15 years of experience.
The company also sells parts including amplifiers, coils, gantries, gradients, PDU, system cabinets, system computers and tables for GE, Siemens, and Toshiba MRs. They also sell amplifiers, DAS cards, gantries PDU, slip rings, system computers and tables for GE CTs.

Tim Wright and Michael Siano, the former owners of Virtual Medical Sales, have stepped down but will be working with BC Technical to make sure that the transition goes well for the customers over the next year. "We're confident BC Technical will not only maintain quality service for our existing customers, but also take the organization to the next level," Siano said in a statement.

More deals like this may be on the horizon. "We are continuously evaluating additional acquisitions opportunities that will compliment BC Technical and enhance our existing team in terms of coverage and capabilities," wrote Smith.
