Ysio Max from Siemens
Siemens Healthcare announced on Wednesday that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has cleared its new DR system for market.

Ysio Max offers new features and upgrades including new X-ray detectors and automation tools — which Siemens says work "much like a personal intelligent assistant." For example, one new feature displays the current detector angle on a color touchscreen, eliminating any guesswork the user has to make about positioning the angle of the X-ray tube correctly. The enhanced touchscreen can also give the technologist status messages to help with workflow and safety.

The three new detectors on the Ysio Max are all different. One is a lightweight wireless detector with a handle — the smallest so far from the company; another small detector is designed for orthopedics, pediatrics and trauma exams; and the third is 17" x 17" and is meant for every patient type.

Both small detectors are able to be swapped between other Siemens radiography, fluoroscopy and urology systems, allowing users to "add more detectors to accommodate the growing and changing needs of the health care organization," according to Siemens.
