DOTmed: Please outline the scope of this project.
Gundersen Health System and Boscobel Area Health Care have entered into an affiliation that will allow patients to continue to receive high-quality healthcare close to home for years to come. The affiliation will become effective on Oct. 1, and the new entity will be known as Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics.

"We are pleased to be taking our relationship with Gundersen to the next level. Gundersen is a nationally recognized leader in healthcare who also understands rural healthcare and the needs of rural hospitals and clinics. We're excited about what the future holds for Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics," says David Hartberg, CEO, Boscobel Area Health Care.

Boscobel Area Health Care entered into a management agreement with Gundersen in June 2012. The formal affiliation is the next step in the process of developing the new healthcare delivery system for patients in the Boscobel region.

"At Gundersen Health System, we believe it is important for people who live in smaller communities to have access to primary and specialty care close to home when it is possible to do so. We are pleased to partner with Boscobel Area Health Care to create an efficient, high-quality model of care for patients in the Boscobel, Fennimore and Muscoda areas," says Kathy Klock, senior vice president of Operations & Human Resources, Gundersen Health System.
