Block Imaging and Neusoft ink distribution deal

by Loren Bonner, DOTmed News Online Editor | April 08, 2013
Block Imaging International, a refurbished medical imaging equipment dealer, announced on April 5 that it will partner with Neusoft Medical Systems USA Inc, a medical equipment and service manufacturer based in China.

Block Imaging will distribute Neusoft's NeuViz CT scanner product line in the U.S.

"U.S. customers now have greater access to quality, new CT systems from Neusoft Medical at substantial cost savings, over new systems from other major manufacturers," said David McAndrews, senior vice president of imaging solutions at Block Imaging, in a statement.

In early December 2012, Neusoft announced that the most recent addition to its CT line — the NeuViz 64 multi-slice CT scanner — received FDA 510(k) clearance, which the company said "provides a clinical and financial solution for [the] currently challenged paradigm, which places clinical advantages of 64-slice scanning beyond the financial budget of most hospitals and imaging centers." In addition to CT, Neusoft also makes MRI, X-ray, diagnostic ultrasound and PET products.

Block Imaging, based in Holt, Mich., said they see this new partnership as an opportunity to offer hospitals and imaging centers even more options with brand-new equipment.
