Oxford to sell refurbished X-ray tubes for GE CTs

by Brendon Nafziger, DOTmed News Associate Editor | August 01, 2012
Oxford Instruments plc said Wednesday its North American service division will now sell a new line of refurbished X-ray tubes for General Electric Corp. CT scanners.

In a statement, Jeff Fall, president of the service wing, OiService, said the reconditioned tubes are a "cost-effective alternative" to buying new tubes directly from the manufacturer.

Repaired tubes are about 40 to 70 percent less expensive, according to a statement on the OiService website.
