Agfa HealthCare held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local bigwigs for its new PACS and RIS research and development center in Canada, the company announced Thursday.
Agfa said the new center, located in a technology park in Waterloo, Ontario, would focus on innovations for its IMPAX PACS and RIS and Imaging Clinical Information System products, as well as technologies in other fields, such as digital pathology. Agfa said it had more than 2,300 IMPAX and ICIS installations worldwide.
Agfa said the new center would create 100 new jobs in the area, and would also work with students and faculty from nearby University of Waterloo.
