Konica Medical Systems said its wireless Aero DR system was used by Indiana University Health Method Hospital providers to evaluate would-be NFL draftees as part of a comprehensive physical the athletes underwent in late February.
Todd Stanley, administrative director for radiology at the Indianapolis hospital, said they captured more than 300 images for participants in the NFL Scouting Combine, which ran February 22-28, according to a statement provided by Konica.
The combine is an annual event where about 300 top college football players are invited by the NFL to undertake a series of athletic tests and get evaluated by executives, team coaches, scouts and medical staff. The NFL calls it a "job interview" ahead of the draft, which ran from April 26 through 28.
The Aero DR system wireless flat panel uses a cesium iodide scintillator, and comes in 14 x 17 and 17 x 17 inch cassette sizes.
