AT&T to run AMA's health IT portal
AMA, which represents a quarter of U.S. doctors, and the telecom giant said they struck a deal to integrate the one-year-old Amagine with AT&T Healthcare Community Online, a platform to let doctors and patients securely exchange health care information. The two companies said they will be discussing this new venture all week at HIMSS 2012 in Las Vegas.

"The alliance will create one seamless solution that will enable highly-secure, virtually anywhere, anytime access to advanced applications, aggregated clinical information and data analytics that enable the coordination and management of patient care and population health," the groups said in their announcement.
According to the companies, AT&T will own and manage the new platform, but AMA will remain "actively engaged" in developing strategies to spread health IT.
Amagine, which piloted in Michigan and operated on a subscription model, debuted in April 2011.
