TriMedx Foundation has picked Mary Owens to be its new director. The non-profit, which organizes medical technology missions and donates repaired equipment to developing countries, announced the promotion for the Evansville, Ind. native on Tuesday.

In her new role, Owens will lead the foundation's partnerships and alliances and expand its donor relationships, the group said. Previously, Owens, who has a history of working with health service non-profits, served as the foundation's director of development, where she helped with fundraising.

"As director, I'm very much looking forward to continuing the TriMedx Foundation's work: being the hands and feet of Jesus by increasing our medical technology mission travel and supporting the medical services of healing ministries across the globe," Owens said in a statement.

Founded in 2004, the TriMedx Foundation has fixed and donated more than $2.5 million worth of equipment to developing countries. And since 1999, TriMedx, its founding company, and the foundation have together participated in more than 79 mission trips. This year, the group already has eight missions planned in Haiti, according to the foundation's website.

Just this past fall, DOTmed participated in a golfing fundraiser for the foundation that helped raise more than $65,000.
