The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology said Wednesday Katrina Crist will be its new chief executive officer.
Crist, who previously served as the CEO and executive director of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, will begin her position with APIC on June 27.
Crist has also held an executive role with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for Islet Transportation at Harvard Medical School/Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, Mass.
She holds a B.A. from Purdue University and an M.B.A. from Boston University. Crist has more than 15 years of experience in health care association management.
"I have enormous respect for APIC and am honored to be selected as the next CEO," Crist said in prepared remarks. "The prevention of health care-associated infections is a critical issue, and I look forward to furthering APIC's patient safety mission."
