FORT LEE, N.J., and VERO BEACH, Fla. - AZZLY™, a provider of integrated, full-feature electronic health record, practice management and patient health record software, announced that it will integrate mdEmail®, the secure, HIPAA-compliant email service from MaxMD, and provide it to all AZZLY subscriber sites at no additional cost. The companies, which both provide software as a service (SaaS) utilizing cloud computing platforms, said that the mdEmail integration would be completed in time for AZZLY's national launch later this year.

"Providers want office applications that pay for themselves and reduce overall costs, not ones that continue to cost them money," said Coletta Dorado, AZZLY President and CEO. "The AZZLY solution is all about efficiency, so physician practices can stay at 100% of patient capacity every day. We're using the best innovative technology and attracting top-tier partners such as MaxMD that understand how an integrated, single-source solution reduces redundancy, prevents errors, saves time and money, and supports best practices."

Ms. Dorado said utilizing mdEmail will permit AZZLY subscribers to initiate a secure email, including attachments, from within the AZZLY EHR/PM/PHR. "What providers and staff want is a solution that stops the daily flood of faxes. They are busy enough and waste time and money reviewing, signing, sorting, scanning, attaching and buying paper," she said.

"Secure communications with patients and other providers is a major compliance concern but can also be a bottleneck on medical office workflow," said Ms Dorado. However, when mdEmail is integrated with the electronic health record, it facilitates workflow efficiency and also allows practices to reduce costs by eliminating the need to fax, mail, or courier paper-based communications. Like all of our integrated features and functions, mdEmail helps drive efficiency while also reducing significant costs. The end result is a vastly improved and much less expensive provider and patient experience, she stated."

"Integrating secure communications with EHRs and other medical office applications can increase qualifications for meeting standards of Meaningful Use," said Scott Finlay, MaxMD CEO. "In addition to realizing significant savings in time and cost, practices using AZZLY EHR/PM/PHR and mdEmail will also be able to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction. These are the core objectives behind the push for greater use of information technology in providing and administering healthcare."
