ISO9001:2008 certified

ReMedPar a was recently awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification, putting the third-party medical parts provider among an elite few that have attained this achievement. What did it take to earn the quality chops?

ISO9001:2008 is a process-based Quality Management System that has customer satisfaction and continuous improvement as its main features.

"To achieve this certification, ReMedPar had to prove to an external governing body that it had developed a process-based management system that was focused on customer satisfaction and quality parts," Ben Hansen, President of ReMedPar told DOTmed News.

Final testing of all parts in Quality Assurance bays that have been calibrated to OEM specifications is now standard procedure at ReMedPar, he said.

Some of the other quality measures taken include electrostatic discharge (ESD) prevention, and optimal temperature and humidity control in their facility. Overall quality has risen considerably and as a consequence so has customer satisfaction. ReMedPar has a warranty return rate below the industry norm due to improvements initiated by ISO 9001:2008 certification.

"In the healthcare field, quality will always be a leading determining factor in purchase preference. For too long, customers have been forced to purchase from OEMs at inflated prices due to fears of lacking quality. What ISO 9001:2008 certification gives ReMedPar is the ability to provide parts at a substantial savings, with the assurance that they meet or exceed OEM standards and specifications," Hansen said.

ReMedPar, based in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, completed ISO requirements with Lloyd's Register of Quality Assurance (LRQA) in less than one year, passing certification procedures without any delays, an impressive accomplishment. As the company increasingly pursues international business, the ISO mark will provide an important demonstration of quality to customers seeking aftermarket savings on quality parts.
