by Barbara Kram, Editor | January 19, 2010
Fourth annual conference
will bring together
radiology executives
Imaging 100 takes place March 20-23, 2010 at the Chateau Elan Golf Resort & Winery in Braselton, GA.

The fourth annual Imaging 100 conference will assemble leaders from all facets of the medical imaging industry to network, discuss best practices and opportunities.

"Our goal is to have close to 100 percent representation across the industry including radiologist-owned facilities, IDTFs (for-profit imaging centers), and outpatient radiology department heads," said Doug Fischer, CEO of the Summer Group, which is hosting the conference for the first time.

The top 25 imaging groups are expected to attend, along with health care providers and vendors, including major OEMs and equipment refurbishing companies, joint venture law firms, real estate firms, and outsource accounting groups.

"One of the big things is that we are bringing in a group to do executive coaching on managing from the executive perspective, for instance to reduce turnover," Fischer said. High staff turnover is an ongoing challenge in the radiology field. A team from Ernst & Young and Thomas Concepts will run the seminar.

Health care reform may be another hot topic, along with business optimization in the outpatient sector, radiology benefits management, and other issues.

"If you want to meet with C-level executives from major imaging groups and radiology groups, that is our focus," Fischer said.

Some of the sessions include: What Happened to my Imaging Volume? How the Dynamics are Changing the Traditional Referral Process, Imaging Center Acquisitions and Plans for Consolidations in 2010, Defining Viable Strategies for 2010 and Beyond: Perspectives from Key Industry Leaders, Leading From Strengths for Sustained Success, and many other topics and activities.

A popular and valuable takeaway will be a book of contacts including attendees and vendors.

"This is going to be a very positive meeting," Fischer said despite the challenges in the radiology field in recent years presented by declining reimbursements. "It's not doom and gloom and we are going to share strategies to make lemonade from the lemons."

Imaging 100 is by invitation only. The ASC 100 conference is not part of this year's Imaging 100 event.
