Carestream Health, Inc., and Technology Partners, Inc. (dba IMAGINE Software), have announced that the two companies have signed a co-marketing agreement that enables Technology Partners' IMAGINEradiologyTM billing solution to be integrated with Carestream RIS (Radiology Information System)/PACS (picture archiving and communication system) platforms. Carestream, of Rochester, NY, and Technology Partners, of Charlotte, NC, say that this integration will help facilitate rapid and accurate billing of imaging procedures, and no longer necessitate the need for a third-party billing system or to transfer data to a separate billing system.

Carestream Health, Inc. provides medical and dental imaging systems, health care IT solutions, molecular imaging systems, and x-ray film and digital x-ray products. The company was formed in 2007 when Onex Corporation purchased Eastman Kodak Company's Health Group and established Carestream as an independent company. Technology Partners, Inc. develops workflow solutions and enterprise systems for the health care and life sciences sector, including technology for medical billing offices, practices, hospitals, banking, and insurance companies.

According to a Carestream Health press release, the company's RIS manages all aspects of radiology workflow: ordering of the imaging exam, exam reading and results reporting. Carestream's PACS manages, distributes and stores imaging studies from different modalities. Technology Partners' IMAGINEradiology system enables billing and collections streamlining for radiology service providers. Carestream says the two company's products will improve staff productivity and workflow, and enhance profitability.

"Integrating IMAGINEradiology with CARESTREAM RIS/PACS benefits our customers by enabling them to enhance the speed and accuracy of their billing procedures." said Diana L. Nole, President, Digital Medical Solutions, Carestream Health, in the press release. "As costs rise and reimbursements decline, an efficient billing solution plays an increasingly important role in the successful operation of radiology services."

"The integration between IMAGINEradiology and the CARESTREAM RIS/PACS allows Carestream Health to provide a state-of-the-art, end-to-end solution to its customers," said Sam Khashman, President and CEO, Technology Partners, in the same release. "We look forward to partnering with a team that shares our commitment to customer service and innovation."

The Carestream press release states that as part of the agreement, the two companies also will promote the products of the other to hospital radiology departments, imaging centers, physician practices and other healthcare providers.
