The MessageMate 40/600 a simple tactile keypad driven device which can be programmed with up to 40 words or messages lasting from one to sixty seconds in length. Typically each touch point has a word and or symbol which is printed on a removable paper key card. When a key point is touched a light is activated and a pre-recorded word or message is vocalized. It appears up to four different programs can be developed using different different MessageMate levels and corresponding key cards so long as the cumulative total of the messaging does not exceed the 600 second internal device memory. The Word and message data is programmed by use of an internal mic. An external mic can also be used via a standard input port (not included). Functions are set using dip switches and key combinations. Instructions for programming and used for this device are on its base. It is powered by a rechargeable battery and an external standard 110 VAC to 12 VDC wall transformer/charger such as is seen in the last picture. A new fully charged battery can be good for several months on standby and up to 5000 messages. I have no idea how old the included battery is. The battery in the MessageMate sold here holds a charge, however it is used and beyond a couple of hours, it probably should probably not be relied on as a standalone power source.
I will include a charger for an additional $20 on request. As the MessageMate uses a a standard voltage and size of charger, many buyers will already have one from another rechargeable device. It is possible to get these chargers in USB or Micro-USB formats as well, so please investigate charging options before requesting the charger I have here (which came from another type of device). The device will be shipped charged.
